Music In The Home Workshop
Teachers, Parents, & Students Training Kindergarden to Third Grade
Most parents would love to have more musical interaction with their children in the home. The sad reality is that many parents claim to have no rhythm, to be tone deaf, or music was something they were forced to do when they were younger; now feeling very inadequate. In this workshop Micah Hirokawa takes parents and students through a series of methods and exercises that can be easily implemented in the home. This course also can support music in the classroom for teachers who want to incorporate music in their yearly instruction.
Out In The Open
A short story embracing ones insecurities and finding acceptance and empowerment
Out In The Open is a fictional short story published in the Rain Bird Literary and Art Journal (Issue #31 page 127). In this story Hirokawa graphically takes his characters, that being the neglected wife and the deadbeat husband through the physiological process of breaking the daily routine and taking control of ones life. The moral of the story is drawn from the age old saying that "no one can make you do anything." The author clearly draws the point that self change can only come when individuals take responsibility and accept accountability for their actions.
